As an ode to the maestro and to celebrate the start of the centenary of Satyajit Ray, the title song of Feluda Pherot was launched today.
Written by Srijato, composed by Joy Sarkar and sung by Rupankar, Rupam Islam and Anupam Roy, the song is a fantastic treat to all Feluda-lovers (i.e. all Bengalis all over the world).
The part that stirred my emotions were the four lines that bring snippets of the two stories (Joto Kando Kathmandute and Chhinnamastar Obhishaap) back from our childhood and makes us relive the excitement that we felt while reading them:
“Pureche kath-khor bohu tobu Kathmandu te keno chupi-chupi pichu nilo bhoy,Akashe meghe-meghe Meghraj, hashi mukhe bondho shaaje e kemon duhshomoy,Hazaribaghe jodi baaghe dhore, obhishaape bhor kore kei na jaane ki theke ki hoy,Parapparappa-Rajrappa-parapparappa-Rajrappa jeno dhappa thik-i debe shomoy”
Also, this happened:

Yes, the iconic theme of Feluda is definitely a part of the project in a reprised form. Also, those who weren’t pleased with the title song because they missed that score in it, if you listen closely the chorus was derived from the theme itself.
As far as the release date of the web-series on Addatimes is concerned, there are still some of the post-production work pending (colour correction, ambience foley and VFX). So let’s wait for the situation to get normal, the lockdown to be lifted, the team to able to work again safely and Feluda to return on screen.
What I’ll be doing in the mean time? Well, listening to the title song on loop, of course.
